Four system configurations - cornerstones of a precision fit

True efficiency requires a perfect fit. Using these four basic models, DCC engineers can perfectly tailor their highly scalable system to fit each project’s unique needs.

1. Cable Liner Single & Double Shuttle System

The Single and Double Guideway Shuttle solutions are the simplest configurations and provide an ideal solution for lengths of up to 3 km (2 miles) and 2 to 5 stations with medium passenger capacity and medium to high headways. The Single Guideway Shuttle has one train operating in a two-way mode on a single guideway. Its companion design, the Double Guideway Shuttle, provides two independently operating trains, which run side-by-side, each with its own guideway, haul rope, and drive machinery. The system’s headway and capacity are determined by the number of stations and the system length.

2. Cable Liner Bypass System

The Bypass, as its name describes, allows two trains to share a guideway up to a certain point, where movable switches direct the trains onto separate tracks (in stations or along the track), allowing them to pass one another without interruption.

3. Cable Liner Pinched Loop System

The Pinched Loop Configuration minimizes headway times because it provides three or more trains in simultaneous operation. This design uses several haul rope loops, which adjoin and overlap one another at stations. Switching the trains between the haul ropes creates a synchronized, circular flow of trains around the system.

4. Cable Liner Continuous Movement System

The Continuous Movement System offers similar advantages in that the system is constantly in motion. It features exceptionally low headways, with individual cars arriving in less than one minute regardless of system length.

DCC can easily integrate a system into existing or new facilities. DCC’s lightweight, modular steel or combination steel and concrete guideway spans more than twice the standard distances between support towers, which means a smaller system footprint and easier integration. Moreover, the systems are scalable to suit varying needs and requirements. Installation schedules are fast and flexible. The fully developed standard components are delivered ready-made for quick, onsite assembly.
